House alarms have become vitally important when it comes to protecting your home and Valuables, sadly crime has increased which makes us all more vulnerable to the opportunist or more determined burglar.
In the past, I have to be honest and say House Alarms were pretty ineffective and probably more of a nuisance to our neighbours rather than a deterrent to the burglar. How often have you just drove or walked past premises with the bell box or siren wailing and nobody seemingly taking any notice?
Fortunately House Alarms have come of age, with the new technology now available. The modern home alarm system is far more sophisticated, user friendly and more importantly effective and efficient at protecting our homes, businesses and belongings.
Types Of House Alarms
Let’s have a closer look at what different types of House Alarms are available and how they can best suit you and your needs.
Home security devices can be Wireless or Wired or a combination of both, obviously Wireless Alarms are easier to install and therefore more cost effective if you are able to do the work yourself, they can also be extended easily if your circumstances change. Wired alarms on the other hand are usually installed for you by a reputable security system supplier, so more expense involved and remember wires can be cut!
The next consideration might be monitoring, house alarms offer little protection if no one responds to the intruder if you are away. You have two choices, your burglar alarm can be monitored by a company such as ADT who will charge a monthly or annual fee and will visit the premises when the intruders trip the alarm. Alternatively the latest House alarms can call you or any telephone numbers you wish, if the sensors detect a break in. This can be done via landlines or mobile cell phone.
Gsm wireless burglar alarms therefore have quite an advantage over earlier house alarm systems. No wires to hide or be cut by the burglar. They are easier to install and update, they can call you, your friends or neighbours or a security company when the alarm is raised. They can also be activated or switched off remotely by SMS.
Motion sensors or PIR’s are far more up to date now there are special sensors which can be pet friendly, they also cover things like Driveway alarms, roller shutter doors as well as the usual room, window or door sensors.
House Alarms can now also record a video of the burglar and even give out a verbal warning, which when you consider what they used to be like, times may have changed but so has technology, so burglars beware!
